Ah, the old blog.

I remembered this blog and decided to dust it off, since it is a lot more fun to talk on this one. I don't know why. Maybe it's because the Nancy Drew books are changing so fast I like to go back and think of the good ones, or wonder if anyone wants to even read the new ones. It's also going to look at the new books online and wondering why I wasted the time. It was great that George loves the computer in the new books... but now Nancy is getting sucked into the world of internet and SUVs and 'green' (gosh, never thought I'd use 'SUV' and 'green' in the same sentence). I see Nancy following the trend. I think that despite a few books the new Hardy Boys are still Hardy Boys but they have adventurous plots.

I also have to look at the good parts, too. I like the modern plots, and I like reading new books. I can relate to the new ones because I can relate to the writing that goes into it. Not to say that history fiction is boring to me, I actually like it. But I like the way writers today write it, because I can easily read the language. The older ones some times seem to have 'cheesy' written all over the cover, and then I remember that it was written a while ago. And maybe it's just that I feel like reading new books more than old books right now.

I want Nancy Drew back the way she was two years ago.
